I am surprised that Microsoft still has so many issues with their installer. Product Name: Windows Home Server 2011 Connector. If it's stopped, you won't be able to join new machines to the WHS and you'll get the unspecified error message. Thanks for this - added the Server IP address to each client PC's Hosts file fixed it - brilliant, thanks!

Somehow the hostname SERVER is being resolved to the wrong IP address. I think there's a spot for setup logs IIRC.
